A little about me and Music

In 4th grade I started playing trumpet. Over the next 4 years, I would also play the baritone and drums. At the age of 12, a friend brought a guitar to my house. I immediately knew that guitar would be my instrument. The very next day, I went to school and told my band instructor that I would no longer be involved. I told him that guitar was now my passion. He never spoke to me again. In 1978, at the tender age of 15, I started my own rock band. That same year, I played my first club. Over the next 20 years, I would go on perform on 2 albums that were distributed worldwide, and perform in many places. I was totally immersed in the ‘big hair’ 80’s scene. Music was a major part of my life, but it wasn’t really paying the bills. I was married, with a beautiful wife and children, and needed a career. I ended up getting a ‘real job’ in financial services, and have been an advisor since 1996. Initially I was still pursuing a music career, while working full time, but eventually had to retire in 1998. In 2011, because of government regulation and executive orders, my income dropped to about 15%. It was time for another career chance. Since music and finances were pretty much all that I knew, I decided to open a music studio specializing in instruction and minimal retail. Psalm 33 had always been one of my favorites of the Psalms, so I decided that it would be an appropriate name for my studio, so in September of 2012 Psalm 33 Music was born. Since then, we’ve expanded to a new location, added 3 more instructors and grown our retail to 50% of our business.
